Airship Photos

I've always been fascinated by airships - particularly the rigid airships flown by the United States Navy. You can imagine my surprise and joy at finding these original photographs that someone had thrown away. They are published here for the benefit of researchers and others interested in their educational value. I would like to credit the original photographers but the pictures are unmarked except for one bearing the notation "Clements #11E". If you can shed any light of the history of these photos, I will be happy to add the details here for everyone to enjoy and credit you as the source.

	USS Los Angeles

	This is a fine image showing LZ-126 (soon to be the USS Los Angeles) arriving at the Lakehurst Naval Air Station for delivery to the US Navy. This is the photo marked "Clements #11E". If you don't mind waiting for the download, a high resolution large image (240 kb) is available here.
	LZ126 at rest in her hanger at Lakehurst. The photo is filled with fine detail. Even the clothes and faces of the welcoming crowd are clearly visible. High resolution image (380 kb) here.
	This image and the one that follows show the now commissioned USS Los Angeles in her navy markings.
